The San Carlos Castle Military Museum in Palma de Mallorca is a privileged place on our island. Its construction was ordered by King Felipe III at the beginning of the XVII Century, due to the need to defend the maritime area against the continuous attacks from pirates and Berbers who plagued the Mediterranean.
According to some historians, the name of the Castle came from the Viceroy of Mallorca, Carles Coloma. During the XX Century it was used for many different purposes: a hospital, an officer’s prison, a saluting battery and as from 1981, a Military Museum. Currently, in addition to offering 10 museum rooms, it is also a place where cultural and other events are held, including weddings.
The San Carlos Castle Military Museum is undoubtedly a place bursting with history and tradition, perfect to host an event as important as a wedding. This was very clear to Ángela and Carlos who turned it into a magical place. The large central patio was the area chosen to dine, where elegant round tables awaited the guests under a starry sky.
“Moments” were in charge of the unique scenery and decoration. A beautiful candelabra covered with natural ivy was placed in the centre of each table, giving a romantic air to the celebration. A colour scheme using greens and pinks dominated the setting and the spectacular views over the bay of Palma made this an unforgettable experience, fulfilling the dreams of any couple.
Once again, Marc Fosh Catering enchanted the guests with their menu, using an avant-garde and ground breaking style, following the couple’s wishes. The dishes were full of Mediterranean flavour and delighted the guests, which made the day even more spectacular. We wish Ángela and Carlos all the very best for the future and would like to thank “Moments” for counting upon our services for this project.
