Last October 20th , celebrated in the Diario de Mallorca Club, the second edition of Foro Turismo + 2015 took place. The meeting counted on the presence of the main leaders of the most important industry in the islands, as well as the president of the Govern, Francina Armengol, and the vice-president and local Tourism Minister, Biel Barceló.
In this second edition, they discussed on issues such as the future of the tourist commercialisation of the Balearic Islands and its image related to the boom of holiday housing. The aim of this annual meeting is to reflect about how the season has resulted once ended, and to analyse the challenges in the future of the Balearic economical motor.
Once the conference was over, the attendees could exchange opinions with the speakers during a cock-tail, whose menu we were in charge of.
Among the dishes we offered, we can highlight the Majorcan products, always made with an innovative avant-garde touch. This time, it all began with a molecular cooking surprise: olive spherifications with thyme, which caused stir among those who tasted it.
Also worthy of mention, the Iberian cold meat, which was presented on a crusty bread base with ramallet tomato jelly, along with the ham croquettes, a classic that never disappoints.
Other starring proposals were the tuna tartar with nori seaweed and sesame seeds, or the Majorcan almond cream with marinated salmon and caviar. Among the canapés, the attendees used the chance to do networking, exchanging cards and building up their own conclusions about the opinions heard during the Forum.
