The Oyster Regatta was held at the Real Club Náutico de Palma between 4th and 8th October 2016, gathering together more than 40 vessels and 350 competitors. The closing dinner of this impressive Oyster Yacht meeting, which combined both competition and festive spirit, was held at the Pueblo Español de Palma, and we had the pleasure of providing the catering service.
The place chosen to celebrate this event could not have been better. Pueblo Español was built between 1965 and 1968 by Fernando Chueca Goitia and offers a harmonious balance of monuments, streets, buildings and squares from different periods of Spain’s history, including Arabic, Gothic, Baroque or Renaissance styles.
The enclosure includes 18 blocks of buildings, 15 streets and 12 squares, making a total of 72 examples of Spanish architecture, all constructed to scale using materials originating from the respective regions.
Shortly after the inauguration of the Pueblo Español, the adjacent Congress Hall opened its doors which, with its neoclassical style, quickly became a place of reference at which to hold all kinds of events, including the gala dinner of the Oyster Regatta which we participated in.
